Covid-19 Field, Court, and Pavilion Permit Process and Application

City Fields and Tennis Courts

Beginning July 1st, our fields and tennis courts will be available for team and organizational use. HOWEVER, there are several qualifiers to be able to use those facilities. We will be asking all organizations and teams using our fields and courts to outline their plans on our new Return to Play Special Request Application for following all Maryland Strong Road Map to Recovery guidance and the CDC’s guidance for youth and amateur sports. This new Return to Play Special Request Application MUST BE FILLED OUT, submitted, and approved prior to any permitted use beginning on July 1, 2020.

  • Please go to link below and complete the proper application and submit your Certificate of Insurance.
  • Your application request will be reviewed by staff.
  • Once you receive approval of your special request and any modifications that we may ask of you, you will be allowed to use your requested date/s.

City Pavilions

Beginning July 1st, our pavilions will be available for permitted use. Please adhere to the guidelines listed below. City of Frederick Parks and Recreation Department Return to Parks Guidelines:

  • The number of participants to each shelter/facility should be kept low enough to ensure proper physical distancing at all times as set by the Maryland Strong Roadmap to Recovery guidance.
  • Hosts should provide hand sanitizing opportunities.
  • Face Coverings should be encouraged in addition to physical distancing.
  • Those in the at risk categories, including those age 60+, should consider not attending.
  • Anyone who does not feel well, or has a family member that is ill, should not attend.

The City of Frederick Parks and Recreation Department reserves the right to cancel reservations in the event it is determined there is an increase in COVID-19 cases. PLEASE NOTE: Users must ensure that all COVID-19 State, County, and City orders are being followed pertaining to physical distancing minimums, maximum number of people gathered, PPE and cleaning, and face coverings.   

Restrooms: City restrooms may not be available for use by users groups.  Availability by locations will vary.
